The stable producer

Briant is a tetraploid intermediate variety which is bred by the Dutch Barenbrug breeding station in Wolfheze. It is listed in the Netherlands and in France.

Good production

This variety shows a very stable production in all circumstances. It fits in all systems, grazing or cutting. On the French list, Briant is the fourth best yielding variety (out of 145 varieties) with an outstanding spring yield an it’s the best tetraploid yielding variety.

Rust resistant

Briant has a very good healthy variety with a high resistance against rust.  Rust influences later in the season the palatability of the grass and it contains also some molds what can influence the fermentation.
