Bar Superb superior in the STRI’s 2014 list of varieties

According to the STRI’s list of varieties, Bar Superb shows superior performance in the field of close mowing. Bar Superb is Barenbrug’s grass seed mixture for golf greens with powerful characteristics thanks to exceptional STRI-tested Barenbrug varieties. As just mentioned, Bar Superb can be mown very closely. Other favourable characteristics of this mixture are its high resistance to diseases such as red thread, its great visual merit and the facts that it forms an excellent dense sward and retains its beautiful green colour in winter, too.

Visual merit according to STRI 2014

The first thing that meets the eye on any golf course is the visual quality of the grass. One unattractive green will spoil the entire course’s visual appeal. According to the STRI, Bar Superb scores a 7.9 for visual merit. The combination of colonial bent grass with fine and chewings fescues proves to be superior, because the individual components score much lower points.
