Barcesar achieves the best performance in terms of turf characteristics and heat and drought tolerance. It shows an excellent summer performance under both high and lower maintenance conditions. Barcesar is Barenbrug’s latest tall fescue and is one of the lighter green tall fescues in our range. Barcesar outperforms other fescues in terms of homogeneity of sward, high ornamental value and high drought tolerance. It distinguishes itself from competitor varieties by its early green-up in spring. Moreover, Barcesar maintains its colour in summer despite heat and drought and is not susceptible to brown patch.

Partner varieties in mixtures
Barcesar has been extensively tested in private trials at Barenbrug Research in the Netherlands and in France. For landscape, fairway and tee applications, Barcesar mixes well with Poa pratensis and Lolium perenne species and in warm dry areas preferably with drought-tolerant varieties, such as Barimpala and Bartwingo. More continental areas are best covered with partners such as Bariris and Barminton or Barfriso.
