Barminton has excellent shoot recovery after damage. This makes Barminton deserving of its position amongst the top varieties for sports use. However, its most striking characteristic is its ability to germinate and establish when soil temperatures are still low. This variety is perfectly suited for use in mainly sports turf situations, blending extremely well with other sports turf species such as Poa pratensis. In a mixture, Barminton will guarantee fast establishment, a dense wear-tolerant turf and an early green-up after winter.

Barminton has been extensively tested at Barenbrug Research and at STRI.
Its good performance under heavy-duty use allows Barminton to be mixed with Poa pratensis and other sports varieties of the Lolium perenne type such as Bareuro or Barfriso.
